Chelsea crowned champions of the world
Women's team win Club World Cup
Kerr scores the winner in dramatic finale
Chelsea Women have been crowned world champions after beating Sydney FC 1-0 in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup in Auckland.
The only goal of the game came from Sam Kerr in the 65th minute, the Australian striker pouncing on a loose ball in the Sydney box to fire home the winner.
It was a hard-fought victory for Chelsea, who had to withstand a determined Sydney side who created several good chances of their own.
But the Blues held on to secure their first Club World Cup title, adding to their Women's Super League and FA Cup triumphs this season.
Speaking after the match, Chelsea manager Emma Hayes said she was "incredibly proud" of her team.
"We knew it would be a tough game, but we dug deep and found a way to win," she said.
"This is a special moment for this club and for these players. They deserve all the credit for what they have achieved this season."
